Helps individuals and communities find local solutions to local needs. United Way provides funding for the Manitoba page on CCEDNet website and the annual CD/CED Gathering.
SPARK A program of CCEDNet, connects volunteer professionals to a broad range of community economic development projects. Clients range from emerging community groups with good ideas, to well established organizations. Spark matches clients with providers, and offers ongoing support during the technical assistance delivery. 2011 Investment: $92,293 |

| CANADIAN MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION (CMHA) WINNIPEG REGION
Works to ensure people affected by mental health problems have the same rights, choices and access to service as all people. Support is available for anyone experiencing problems with services they are currently using or trying to access. CMHA also offers information and referrals, skills development and public education to individuals, families, and the community.

| CANADIAN MUSLIM WOMEN'S INSTITUTE (CMWI)
Provides programs and services that help Muslim women participate and contribute fully in the community. Services include community gatherings, job referral, English conversation groups, Halal community pantry, Moms and Tots' program, peer support group, home visits, sharing circle, exercise class and a sewing training program.

| CNIB - MANITOBA and SASKATCHEWAN DIVISION
Assists blind, visually impaired, and/or deafblind people in dealing with the challenges of life in a sighted world. With support from United Way, CNIB offers counselling, orientation and mobility services, career and employment services, and low vision and library services. Additionally, CNIB offers assistive technology assessment and training, peer support and leisure groups for adults and seniors, as well as early intervention for infants and pre-school children.

| COALITION OF COMMUNITY-BASED YOUTH SERVING AGENCIES (CCBYSA)
A collaborative network of 19 youth serving agencies, the Coalition works in partnership to create programs that will benefit youth. The Coalition helps improve direct services by offering support and shared training to member agencies. As well, it enhances existing programs and services by acting as a resource to agencies, policymakers, and the public. United Way supports program coordination and a joint summer camp.

| COMMUNITY EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (CEDA)
Offers resources and skills development to help North End residents strengthen their communities. CEDA operates the Youth Opportunity Program at two inner city high schools and a Refugee Women's Centre on the edge of Central Park in downtown Winnipeg. PATHWAYS TO EDUCATIONIs a program that focuses on lowering high school dropout rates, increasing access to postsecondary education and closing the "opportunity gap". Pathways collectively provide a holistic approach that supports students to complete their education and make the transition into a successful career. CENTRAL PARK WOMEN'S RESOURCE CENTRECentral Park Women's Resource supports the local women and their families in the Central Park Neighbourhood by developing and providing services that reflect the unique needs of this community.

| COMMUNITY FINANCIAL COUNSELLING SERVICES (CFCS)
Offers assessment, credit counselling, budgeting, debt consolidation and debt repayment for individuals and families experiencing financial difficulties. CFCS also provides information and referrals for people receiving or applying for income assistance. A voluntary tax preparation program helps individuals living in low-income situations complete tax returns at 35 sites throughout Winnipeg.

| COMMUNITY UNEMPLOYED HELP CENTRE (CUHC)
Provides information, representation, and support services to help individuals access employment insurance (EI) benefits. The centre also conducts educational presentations on employment-related issues and the social and economic cost of unemployment. As well, CUHC engages in public interest advocacy and test case litigation to ensure the EI program provides income support to workers who become unemployed.
