Seeks to awaken the spirit of Aboriginal people through culturally-based education, training, employment, leadership, community development, and healing and wellness programs. Services are rooted in the restoration and reclamation of cultures.

EMPOWERING OUR LITTLE SISTERS

Empowering Our Little Sisters has moved from under the auspices of Big Brothers Big Sisters to being sponsored by Ka Ni Kanichihk effective April 1, 2010. The current contract for Empowering Our Little Sisters expires March 31, 2011.

Offers a range of safe, organized recreational and educational activities for youth aged eight to 17 during the critical hours when they are not in school: evenings, weekends, in-service days and school holidays. KYAC provides young people with job and volunteer placements and works to build a strong connection between youth and their community.

Provides treatment and support services for children, youth, and their families. Programs include group care treatment, day treatment, and foster care treatment. As well, the Centre houses an on-site school and Aboriginal cultural program. United Way supports the Centre's sexual abuse treatment program for children and non-offender family members.
