Community Liaison / Day of Caring
The Community Liaison provides linkage to United Way funded agencies and is responsible for Cabinet education into the work of United Way. United Way’s Day of Caring program provides a vital link that connects community-minded organizations and their employees with social service organizations that need willing hands for special projects or events. In 2007, 110 Day of Caring projects were completed in the community.

Dave Young is the CEO of the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg since 1997. Dave has overseen the renaissance of the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg from a contraction period to a time of unprecedented growth where three new branches of the Y will have been opened. Dave is a lifetime professional of the Y starting in his youth as dishwasher at Camp with the Ottawa Y. Dave worked his way through the Y experience and at times was a physical educator, manager of the downtown Y in St. Catherines, CEO of the Cambridge YMCA and his present position. Dave in his off hours is an enthusiastic coach of youth football. Dave has also been a member of the United Way nomination committee.
