United Way’s Government Division
The Government Division includes federal, provincial and civic governments, plus agencies, boards, Crowns, and 17 Wing/CFB Winnipeg. In 2008, the Government Division raised $1,115,780.

As Regional Executive Vice President for the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), Robyn Benson is responsible for area and district labour councils and committees in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Her position also encompasses organizing and re-certifications, education, political and social action, equity and women’s programs, directly chartered locals, separate employers, and several bargaining units.
As well, Robyn shares responsibility for national portfolios, projects and conferences. These include federal sector reorganization and modernization, classification reform, pay equity and human rights. She is also involved with PSAC’s communications strategy, Zone Committee, Investment Committee and Women’s Conference.
Robyn represents PSAC on the Federal Dental Board, Public Service Commission Advisory Committee, and the Canadian Labour Congress Executive Council. She also sits on several national PSAC committees including Privatization, P3s, Contracting-Out, and Equal Opportunities.
Prior to her first PSAC election in 2000, Robyn worked for 20 years with the Winnipeg Taxation Centre of Canada Revenue Agency. Her union involvement began with a strike in 1980 by the Clerical and Regulatory bargaining unit. Since then, she’s held a variety of union positions, including Regional Vice President with the Taxation Employees' Union.
