Robert (Bob) Gannon

United Way's Community Leaders Division
The Community Leaders Division includes individuals with whom United Way connects directly, outside traditional workplace campaigns. The Chair’s role is to ensure these individuals are identified and remain engaged with United Way.

Currently retired, Bob Gannon’s career encompasses a number of operating and financial management positions in both the public and private sectors.

Most recently, Bob was Chief Financial Officer for the City of Winnipeg from 1997 to 2006 and for James Richardson and Sons from 1990 to 1997. Prior to that, he spent 12 years with Inter-City Gas where he held various positions up to and including President of Keeprite Inc.

Bob is a Certified Chartered Accountant with a master’s degree in business from the University of Manitoba. He is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute and holds a BA from the University of Toronto. Over the years, Bob has been involved with numerous professional and community organizations, industry associations and non-profit groups.

Currently, he chairs the Audit Committee for the Winnipeg Civic Pension Plan, as well as the Board of Directors of St. Boniface Hospital. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants (Manitoba).

Bob's association with United Way runs deep. In 1995 he chaired United Way’s campaign and served as Chair of the Board of Trustees in 1997.

Bob has three children and six grandchildren and enjoys travel, reading, golf, swimming and theatre.
