United Way's Professions Division
The Professions Division includes legal, accounting, engineering and architectural firms, plus dental and medical clinics. In 2008, the Professions Division raised $798,674. The direct response segment raised $199,678.

Rick MacKay is a Corporate Audit Partner and Director of Operations for Deloitte Winnipeg's Assurance and Advisory Group. He has extensive experience conducting financial audits and providing business advisory services to many major Canadian corporations, as well as non-profit and owner-managed clients.

Actively involved with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba for many years, Rick is currently a member of the Council and serves on the Office Practice Advisory Committee. He has also participated as a marker for the uniform final examination. Additionally, Rick is a board member, treasurer and member of the Executive Committee for the Associates of the Asper School of Business.

Rick is active on various local and national boards and committees for Deloitte & Touche and others. He is Past Vice President of Manitoba’s Heart and Stroke Foundation and has also participated at the national level. As well, Rick served as Chair of the Economic Development Committee for the 1999 Pan American Games and on the Finance Committee of the Manitoba Museum. For a number of years, Rick acted as Provincial Agent in Manitoba for a leading Canadian political party.
