United Way's Labour Liaison
Representing the voice of Winnipeg’s labour community on United Way’s Campaign Cabinet, the Deputy Chair, Labour reports on labour issues, helps union leaders promote workplace campaigns, and encourages active labour leadership and involvement on United Way's cabinet, board and committees.

Sandra Oakley became employed as a National Servicing Representative with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (Manitoba Region) in 1981. She was seconded to the CUPE national office in Ottawa as Assistant Managing Director, Organizing and Regional Services (2000 and 2001). In 2002, she was hired as Regional Director for CUPE in Manitoba.

Sandra is also Chair of the Board of Directors for the Rehabilitation Centre for Children, a labour representative on the Manitoba Labour Board, and a part-time Commissioner on the Automobile Injury Compensation Appeal Commission.

Sandra is married to Wayne Guenther and they have three dogs and two cats.
