United Way's Community Liaison/Day of Caring
The Community Liaison provides a link to United Way agency partners and is responsible for educating Cabinet about United Way’s work in the community. United Way’s Day of Caring program connects community-minded organizations and their employees with United Way agency partners who need willing hands to help with special events or projects.

Michael A. Owen has been Executive Director of Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg since 1989. He holds a bachelor of social work degree from the University of Manitoba.

Michael has worked with children and youth through various registered charities in Winnipeg for the past 40 years. He is also Past Lt. Governor of the Kiwanis Clubs in Manitoba.

Michael has been married to Colleen for 39 years. They have two adult children and two grandchildren.
