Koats for Kids Teams up with Festival Du Voyageur!

Koats for Kids wrapped up its 19th and most successful year ever by partnering with Festival du Voyageur for its 39th annual kickoff.
Thirteen student volunteers from Dakota, JH Bruns, Nelson McIntyre, and Windsor Park Collegiates as well as members of United Way's Youth Relations and Youth Connections Councils braved the cold to make sure children in Winnipeg stay warm. Running three collection stations on Provencher Boulevard, the volunteers collected more than 100 items of warm outerwear in just over three hours. The coats, ski pants, scarves, and mitts will be given to children & families throughout Winnipeg. This year alone, more than 18 000 items were donated and distributed through the Koats for Kids program.
United Way would like to thank everyone who made a donation and to our partners for their contributions to the tremendous success of this year's Koats for Kids program: 1290 CFRW, CTV, Winnipeg Sun, Perth's, Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service and Oyate Tipi Cumini Yape.
