Express Yourself!

Our beliefs and values guide our attitudes, and the way we think and act. They also help guide United Way of Winnipeg's priorities and work in the community.

Link to Urban ExchangeWhat values do you care about most deeply? What values do Winnipeggers share? To what extent do you feel or value respect, trust, a sense of belonging or safety? These are some of the questions posed by United Way via the second Urban Exchange survey, Exchange Two: Exploring Our Values.

More than 1600 people have already completed the survey, available online at MyCityMySay or by calling United Way at (204) 477-5360.

Based on early results, we're seeing some fascinating similarities and thought-provoking differences in how people respond to the topic of values.

One participant says, "I think it's extremely important to teach our young people not only respect for others, but also respect for themselves and their intrinsic worth as unique human beings."

We believe the final results will be extremely powerful as more and more Winnipeggers contribute to the dialogue. A full report will be available early in 2009.

Urban Exchange is a panel of hundreds of Winnipeggers from all walks of life who are interested in shaping the future of our city by talking about what's important to them. Its a way to share your views and find out what others are thinking. It's also a way for United Way to stay connected to the community.

Our hope is that your combined thoughts and opinions will help bring people and organizations together to address the complex issues that matter most to residents of our city.

Please take some time to add your own voice to this conversation - we want to ensure everyone who is interested has the opportunity to participate and be heard.
