For the third consecutive year, United Way's Annual Golf Tournament hit a hole in one for our community.
The annual tournament plays a vital role in helping United Way fulfill its promise to the community of creating opportunities for a better life for everyone.
"Sponsorship and registration were sold out almost three months in advance," said Greg Bieber, 2009 Tournament Chair. "Given the fact we have all experienced unsettling economic times this past year, our achievement for United Way is that much more remarkable."
The tournament has raised almost $450 000 since its inception 17 years ago.
Thank you to all sponsors, participants and volunteers whose hard work and generosity continue to drive the success of this event. All funds raised through this tournament play a vital role in helping United Way create opportunities for a better life for everyone by providing kids with alternatives crime, drugs and life on the streets; reducing poverty; and, building safer, healthier neighbourhoods.
