The Aboriginal Centre of Winnipeg provided a spectacular venue for United Way's Leadership Appreciation event on Thursday, April 30.

More than 150 people turned out and were treated to a performance by the children of the Rossbrook Rockas, a music program made possible through United Way agency partner Rossbrook House.

Rossbrook's Co-Executive Director Phil Chiapetta addressed the crowd and spoke about the importance of leadership along with 2009 Campaign Chair Jeff Zabudsky and Leadership Co-chair Stephen Chipman.

Leadership donors have been instrumental in broadening United Way's reach and impact in our community by generously committing to personal donations of $1200 or more annually.

During United Way's 2008 fundraising campaign, more 2353 Winnipeggers became leaders, contributing almost $7 million or 39% of total dollars raised.
