Volunteer opportunities for Winnipeg's next generation of leaders
GenNext: Who we are and what we do.
We are a group of young, diverse community minded individuals who work to facilitate the achievement of United Way of Winnipeg's mission: To improve lives and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action. We provide tangible opportunities for the next generation of Winnipeggers to create lasting change by leading through example.
We are committed to:
Investing time, skills, energy and money on an ongoing basis to create sustainable results and inspire others to give within their own means;
Offering hands on community volunteering experiences which meet the interests of our network and create a difference in our community;
Organizing social events and networking opportunities to increase awareness and involvement in United Way of Winnipeg.

GenNext volunteers - make spirits bright
GenNext is excited to be partnering with SPARK in order to offer more volunteer opportunities for our GenNext Members!
SPARK works to strengthen and build capacity of community-based organizations in Winnipeg by connecting them with volunteers who can bring specialized professional skills to projects.
SPARK has made matches that have helped community organizations to develop strategic plans, deal with legal issues, apply for charitable status, and draw up the plans for building use and expansion, among many other things.
SPARK is currently seeing an increased demand for volunteers with; legal expertise, marketing, web, social media and graphic design skills.
If you have specific professional skills and you would like to help build a better community, contact the Spark staff: Geoff Ripat, Fiorina Pasquarelli or Julio Rivas, by phone at 837-7275 (83-SPARK) or by email at spark[at]ccednet-rcdec.ca
Get together with a group of your peers and work with a non-profit agency or neighbourhood group to complete a much-needed project or hold a special event.
Projects are one or two day tasks and can be anything from building a playground, painting a fence, planting a garden, washing windows or cleaning up.
This is a great opportunity to work with United Way agency partners and make a visible and valuable contribution to the communities they serve. You can get involved in the planning and coordination of the event or simply attend the Day of Caring and have fun!

Become an Agency Liaison Volunteer
Work with United Way's community investment team to play an essential role in the process of renewing funding agreements, reviewing requests for increases and evaluating new initiatives.
You will be assigned to at least one existing or potential agency partner during your three year term. Along with other volunteers and United Way staff, you will meet with your assigned agency approximately once a year to review recent progress and activities.
This is a great way to share existing knowledge and skills and enhance and develop your leadership, problem solving and analysis skills.

Invest in our community by donating to United Way
