First, let's talk about that derelict digital camera of yours. Consider this request from the amazing Kate Fenske of United Way:
"We are seeking donations of used digital cameras so hundreds of youth in our city will get the chance to learn about art and their community.
"The Coalition of Community Based Youth Serving Agencies, a group of 19 agency partners supported by United Way, will hold digital photography workshops throughout April for approximately 300 youth participants.
"An inter-agency art show at United Way agency partner Graffiti Art Programming will follow this spring. It will showcase how youth see our community and will include videos, projections, posters and traditional black and white prints ...
"Donations of used digital cameras with compatible accessories (batteries, memory cards, USB cords) can be dropped off at United Way, 5 Donald St., throughout March during business hours.
"Also, if there are any workplaces in the city that collect 20 or more digital cameras, United Way will be happy to pick them up."
Terrific initiative. Download those digitals. Tomorrow's leaders await!
