President of Vickar Community Chevrolet Larry Vickar, GM Canada's manager of charitable donations Diane Lehman, co-director of West Broadway Youth Outreach Ken Opaleke, and Scott Sanders, chairman of the United Way Board of trustees.
GM Canada has graciously donated a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander to United Way that will enhance lives by providing the transportation needed for Winnipeggers to access meaningful opportunities. All expenses associated with the van, including fuel, maintenance and insurance, will be covered by GM Canada.
MADE POSSIBLE
"Strong, healthy communities don't just happen. They are made possible by the dedication of the people who live in them, by the businesses and companies that locate in them and those who invest in them," said Diane Lehman, GM Canada's manager of charitable donations.
Nine of United Way's agency partners will share the Community Wheels van.
"A van is kids being able to experience the joy of achievement," said Scott Sanders, chairman of United Way's board of trustees. "It's families learning they can not only make ends meet but plan for a bright future. And it's thriving neighbourhoods energized by connected, happy and healthy people."
