Leadership Development Program
Each fall, community-minded employers loan us employees to serve as an extension of United Way campaign staff. These Sponsored Executives (SEs) provide direction and support to annual campaign volunteers in workplaces throughout the city as they work full-time with United Way of Winnipeg for the duration of the campaign (14 weeks).
This University of Manitoba Certified Leadership Development Program is a unique hands-on approach to human resource capacity building.
2009 Sponsored Executive Team.
Benefits for Your Employee
Working effectively as a team member, your employee will receive professional development in effective sales and negotiation, customer service techniques, strategic thinking, analysis of hard and soft information, plan development, identification of opportunities, goal setting and achievement, leadership and facilitation skills and time management. SEs return to your organization with transferable skills, improved confidence and increased productivity.
Benefits for Your Organization
You'll discover and test your employees' leadership potential, provide your employees with valuable experience that can immediately be applied to your organizational needs and demonstrate your organization's commitment to the community.
United Way of Winnipeg makes sure that your support is acknowledged in each of the many workplace presentations given by your employee, on your representative's SE business card, on the Sponsored Executive "Thank You" advertisement in the Winnipeg Free Press each January 2008, on banner signage at United Way of Winnipeg's Campaign Kick-Off event, at the first three of four public United Way Report Sessions, on banner signage, in a special onscreen presentation at United Way's fourth and final Report Session luncheon and through acknowledgement in United Way of Winnipeg's Annual Report.
