United Way's Youth Relations Strategy
Driven by United Way of Winnipeg's Youth Relations Council, the Youth Relations Strategy is all about finding ways for today's young leaders to connect and get involved in our community, take action on their ideas, and create opportunities for a better life for everyone.
The strategy includes:- Shaw/United Way Youth Connections Program;
- Student Leadership Conference;
- Get Something Started Workshops;
- Youth Day of Caring and other events;
- United Way Student Community Service Award;
- Youth Leaders in Action Scholarship.
Through these programs, hundreds of young volunteers aged 16-24 work together with United Way agency partners, community leaders, other schools, and non-profit organizations.
All the while, they're developing communication, planning and leadership skills, gaining an understanding of our community and its issues, making new friends and meeting new mentors.
